The Royal Warrant Holders Association was formed in 1840 and its main objective is to ensure the continued existence of the Royal Warrant as a treasured and respected institution. A Royal Warrant of Appointment is a mark of recognition of those who supply goods or services to the Households of HM The Queen, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh or HRH The Prince of Wales. There are around 800 Warrant holders at any one time representing a diverse cross section of trade and industry, from individual craftspeople to global multi-nationals.

QEST, the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust, was established by the Royal Warrant Holders Association in 1990 to help support training of craftspeople working in Britain and was named after HM Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. The Charity has achieved considerable success since its inception and has given over £2.5 million in funding to around 370 craftspeople working in over 130 skill sectors. QEST is now receiving a higher volume of applications and cannot fund as many of the talented craftspeople as it would like; in fact, turning away 90% of applicants.
