Our event also showcases ultra-special collector cars of the future, with this stunning Gordon Murray Automotive T.50 starring at Hampton Court Palace earlier this month. Following on from its antecedent, the McLaren F1, it is powered by a spine tingling, super-responsive 4.0-litre Cosworth V12, which can hit the limiter from idle in just three tenths of a second. This 1954 Cooper-Jaguar T33 was designed to take the fight to the C-type and D-type. Powered by the venerable Jaguar XK 3.4-litre straight six motor, it was a real featherweight, tipping the scales at 864kg, some 50kg less than the already superlight D-type. Our show earlier this month featured an auction from our partner @goodingandcompany on the Friday, with the cars evocatively displayed ahead of the sale in the Hampton Court Palace courtyards. It once again delivered a unique collector car auction experience. Pics: @tshaxson Presented by @alangesoehne
Looking back on our Best in Show winner for 2024: sublime 1937 Rolls-Royce Phantom III Convertible by Inskip. The Phantom III was the last large Rolls-Royce launched before World War II and marked the final car with significant input from Henry Royce. Out of 727 Phantom IIIs produced, only a few were made in the USA, including the victorious car, 3CP18, a unique convertible coupé designed by JS Inskip.
