Another stunning event at the Amelia Island Concours saw a pair of wonderful Best in Show winners pick up top honours. This ex-Jim Clark 1967 Lotus 49 was awarded Best in Show for the coveted Concours de Sport, while the 1938 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B was named Best in Show at the Amelia Concours d'Elegance itself. With each winner claiming significant victories at some of motorsport's most iconic races, including the Mille Miglia and British Grand Prix respectively, each of these glorious and beautifully maintained winners were thoroughly deserving winners at one of the world's most prestigious concours events. British automotive racing royalty: a glorious lineup of Jaguar D-types on show at our event back in 2017. Don't they look glorious, parked up in front of Hampton Court Palace. Europe's leading concours d'elegance event will return to the Palace from the 5th-7th September. Presented by @alangesoehne Pic: @timscott

More automotive history has been made this week with the sale of Bernie Ecclestone's iconic collection of 69 Formula 1 cars, valued at approximately £500 million. Sold to Mark Mateschitz, the son of the late Red Bull magnate Dietrich Mateschitz, the unparalleled collection comprises some of F1s most iconic racing masterpieces, such as Niki Lauda's Brabham BT46B 'fan car', and Michael Schumacher's 2002 championship-winning Ferrari. This year's Concours of Elegance will feature a celebration of the Formula 1 World Championship's 75th anniversary, so make sure to secure your tickets to witness some fine examples from motorsport's pinnacle. We're delighted that this wonderful piece of Porsche history - the very first 911 Turbo prototype, chassis 9113300157 - will be on show at the Amelia Island Concours this weekend. It was a star of our event last September. It is highly significant, as it was the very machine that starred on the Porsche stand at the 1973 IAA Frankfurt Motor Show, putting the concept of a turbocharged 911 on the map, setting the template for an enduring performance car legend.
