The story of Penhaligon’s is the story of Britain, a land where mavericks and happy accidents power the ever-unfolding future. Established in 1870, Penhaligon’s approaches the art of perfumery with a flair for the bold, the refined, and the unexpected.

It is the story of a man who, in 1837, leaves Penzance for London with a vision to do just one thing – conjure dreams and possibilities through the power of perfume.

This dream, this vision, this quest leads to his pioneering barber shop at 66 Jermyn Street where gentlemen flock for modern grooming — and provocative perfume. Inspired by the Turkish Baths next door, his premier fragrance Hammam Bouquet is born. A contemporary twist on an ancient tradition, this scent reinterprets the past to create the future and with it, he becomes a creative craftsman and progressive pioneer.

WE STILL SELL IT TODAY.

For over a century, Penhaligon’s has crafted royally inspired fragrances beginning with our first royal warrant from Queen Alexandra in 1903, and proudly held today by HM King Charles III. In 2023, the Highgrove Bouquet bloomed, honouring Their Majesties’ private gardens. Its latest scent, Daphne Bouquet, was met with acclaim, donating 10% of proceeds to The King’s Foundation.
