The Glenturret Celebrates 70 Years of the Jaguar C-Type
Commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Jaguar C-Type, Official Whisky Partner of the Concours of Elegance, The Glenturret, has launched an exclusive whisky to celebrate the majesty of one of Britain’s most iconic automotive creations.
Limited to an exclusive 220 bottles, the Jaguar C-Type Whisky is dedicated to the British marque’s triumphant Le Mans competitor. Finishing first, second, fourth and ninth at the legendary Le Mans 24 Hours, the Jaguar C-Type pushed the boundaries of automotive and racing possibilities. The C-type obliterated Le Mans average speed record, clocking in at a hair-raising 105.84mph – the first time a plus-100mph average had been set.
Powered by a fearsome 220bhp engine, with triple carburettors and an aerodynamic, lightweight body, the C-Type proved to be an engineering and racing feat – it even introduced the world to brake discs.
A testament to the precision, craftsmanship and pursuit of excellence that the C-Type embodies, Glenturret’s limited edition creation has been aged for a minimum of 32 years, and drawn from five casks selected by celebrated whisky maker, Bob Dalgarno.
Oloroso sherry-seasoned European oak hogsheads deliver traditional rich fruit and aromatic spices, and a single Pedro Ximenez sherry-seasoned American Oak hogshead imparts sweet vanilla and light oak.
