Gooding & Co Auction Highlights at Concours of Elegance 2024
This year’s Concours of Elegance, held at Hampton Court Palace from August 30 to September 1, will feature a remarkable live auction by Gooding & Company. Renowned as one of the world’s leading collector car auction houses, Gooding & Company will present an exquisite selection of vehicles, including a quartet of significant 1930s Bugattis from the esteemed Jack Braam Ruben Collection. These rare Bugattis represent the pinnacle of automotive engineering and design from the pre-war era.
The highlights of the auction include:
- 1935 Bugatti Type 57 Atalante (Estimate: £3,000,000 – £4,000,000): An early example of the Atalante, featuring its original engine and restored to its original two-tone smoke and sage green colour scheme.
- 1933 Bugatti Type 43A Roadster (Estimate: £3,000,000 – £4,000,000): Known for its elegant design and powerful supercharged 2.3-litre engine, this example has a patinated two-tone grey finish and retains many original components.
- 1935 Bugatti Type 57 Stelvio (Estimate: £900,000 – £1,100,000): This unrestored Gangloff-bodied cabriolet boasts a wonderfully patinated red leather interior and a subtle two-tone black and maroon paint scheme.
- 1938 Bugatti Type 57 Ventoux (Estimate: £550,000 – £650,000): A show-quality example with a known provenance, featuring a Gris Deauville body and Havane leather interior.
In addition to the auction, the Concours of Elegance will showcase a curated collection of 60 of the world’s rarest and most exclusive automobiles. Attendees will have the opportunity to witness these automotive masterpieces up close, as well as to browse pop-up boutiques from some of the world’s most iconic brands.
