The Supercharged Icon: 1928 Mercedes-Benz SSK Roadster Comes to Concours of Elegance

The legendary 1928 Mercedes-Benz SSK Roadster will join the line-up at the Concours of Elegance, bringing one of the most iconic names in pre-war performance to the event.

The Mercedes-Benz SSK was developed as a lightweight, high-performance evolution of the marque’s successful S and SS models. Created under the direction of Ferdinand Porsche, the SSK combined a powerful supercharged engine with a shortened chassis, giving it the performance and character that would make it one of the most celebrated sports cars of its era.

With its imposing proportions, long bonnet and distinctive supercharger, the SSK Roadster perfectly captures the spirit of Mercedes-Benz performance in the late 1920s. Its combination of engineering, style and outright performance has secured the SSK an enduring place among the great pre-war automobiles.

The 1928 Mercedes-Benz SSK Roadster will now take its place among the exceptional cars gathered for the Concours of Elegance.
