Mercedes-Benz to Showcase an Extraordinary Range of Cars at Concours of Elegance

Mercedes-Benz will join the Concours of Elegance 2026 with a fabulous array of cars spanning more than a century of automotive history, from the Benz Patent Motor Car to the latest MANUFAKTUR Mercedes-Benz S-Class. .

At the heart of the display will be the Benz Patent Motor Car, the vehicle that ushered in a new era of personal mobility. On 29 January 1886, Carl Benz applied for a patent for his “gas-powered vehicle”. Patent number DRP 37435 became regarded as the birth certificate of the automobile. Benz designed the world’s first car as a three-wheeler, with the engine and chassis forming an organic unit.

Alongside it will be the 1956 Mercedes-Benz 300 Sc Roadster, one of the rarest and most sought-after classic cars in the world. Only 53 Roadsters were produced between 1955 and 1958. Powered by a 2,996cc inline-six producing 175hp, the 300 Sc Roadster had a top speed of 180 km/h and was described in the 1955 catalogue as the “favourite of the discerning”.

The display will also feature a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing, a unique factory-built example finished in one-off DB 115 Silver Grey Metallic with a special silk-matte paint finish and a bespoke turquoise leather interior. The car was delivered new in June 1955 and was subsequently returned to Mercedes-Benz by its first owner for a comprehensive factory refurbishment, including a new body, new engine and overhaul of its major mechanical components. It has since undergone an extensive restoration and has been presented at events including Pebble Beach and the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.

Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series Red Ambience

Representing the latest generation of Mercedes-Maybach will be the 2025 Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series ‘Red Ambience’. Its design combines roadster proportions with the distinctive elegance of the Maybach brand, including a Maybach radiator grille with vertical chrome slats, extensive chrome accents, Maybach pattern elements on the bonnet and an exclusive two-tone paint finish. The interior features finely crafted Nappa leather, exclusive trim details and numerous Maybach emblems. Its 3,982cc V8 produces 585hp.

Mercedes-Benz S 500 4MATIC long version

Completing the display will be the Mercedes-Benz S 500 4MATIC Saloon Long Wheelbase, presented in MANUFAKTUR Silicon Grey solid with an exclusive “Vista Blue” interior. The MANUFAKTUR Made to Measure programme allows customers to personalise their S-Class with bespoke paint finishes, leather accents, contrast stitching and personal details including initials, logos or family crests. This particular car features bespoke headrest cushions, seat cushions, floor mats, boot mat and individually designed door sill panels.

Together, this fabulous array showcases the breadth of Mercedes-Benz, from Carl Benz’s pioneering Patent Motor Car to highly individual modern luxury vehicles.

Mercedes-Benz will join the Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace from 4-6 September 2026.
